How to create
your own paper fans

In this project you’ll learn how to create your paper fan – perfect to help keep you cool!
Step 1: Create your fan shape
On the cardstock draw an outline of a fan. Use the craft sticks to help guide you on the size of your fan shape.
Step 2: Paint your elements
Dab your paint brush into some water and then into the watercolour paint. Paint the paper surface of your fan using even strokes, then let the paint dry. Then paint one side of the sticks, using the washable paint.
Step 3: Start decorating
Use your Crayola super tips pens and glitter glue to decorate the surface of your fan. You can be as creative as you like! Draw shapes or faces or add in extra colours. Once you’re finished decorating cut out the fan.
Step 4: Fasten your fan
Ask an adult to help you make a little circular whole in the bottom of each of your craft sticks. Then join them together using the brass fastener. When they are joined at the bottom, glue the top of the stick to the underside of your fan, placing them equal distance apart.
Step 5: Get folding
Once everything is dry fold the paper section of your fan back and forward into four section like an accordion. And then unfold and your done!
