At Officeworks we believe understanding and responding to the needs of our communities is best accomplished when we reflect, encourage and value the diversity of the communities that we live and work in.
We recognise the importance of providing an inclusive environment for all our team members and encourage our team members to work in the way that best supports achieving business outcomes whether that be in full time, part time, or casual working arrangements.
We believe in supporting our team members at work and at home. That’s why we implemented our ‘Growing Families’ parental leave policy, which includes 12 weeks of paid leave, as well as superannuation contributions and long service leave accrual for the full 52 weeks for the primary carer. For a secondary carer, it includes two weeks of paid leave, including superannuation.
The policy also recognises that growing a family can happen in many ways, so it also includes support for its team members going through IVF, adoption and surrogacy.
We’re focused on providing opportunities for a gender-balanced and inclusive workforce and building relationships with our Indigenous communities to provide employment and growth opportunities.
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our team, customers, suppliers, contractors and visitors across all Officeworks locations.
We are continuing to create a culture where health, safety and wellbeing are proactively discussed and implemented, and we encourage all team members to take an active role in ensuring a safe and happy workplace.
Through our partnership with Eudoxia, we provide an Employee Assistance Program. This free and confidential service supports team members and their families. It also assists managers to provide advice and support to their team members.
At Officeworks, we believe your hard work and contribution deserves some great benefits in return. That's why we offer all our team members access to a great range of deals and discounts. Including a discount card providing up to 20% discount across all Officeworks stores Australia-wide and up to 5% discount at Target and Kmart.
Eligible team members will also have the opportunity to participate in the Wesfarmers Employee Share Acquisition Plan via the annual salary sacrifice program.
We’re passionate about building meaningful connections with the local communities where we live and work. In addition to employing local people in our stores, we support national, state and local causes to support individuals and groups that need it the most, with a particular focus on helping educate disadvantaged students. At a national level we partner with The Smith Family and raise funds for its Learning for Life student sponsorship program through our Back to School Appeal that runs from December to February each year. We also support the Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) through our annual Wall of Hands initiative in September, which raises funds for literacy packs and education programs in remote indigenous communities such as APY Lands, Palm Island and Alice Springs to help raise language, literacy and numeracy standards.
