We know that many of our customers value reducing the impact on the environment and want to give back to the communities in which they live and work.
Our growing People & Planet Positive range aims to reduce our impact on the environment and support local communities through trusted certifications, standards and initiatives.

Product materials must fall into at least one of the criteria outlined below. Product criteria and claims are substantiated by meeting specific standards, certifications or internal requirements verified by third parties and / or Officeworks Environmental, Social, and Governance Team.
Recycled Content
Products are created using recycled materials such as paper, plastic or polyester, ensuring that resources can be better used and stay in the economy for longer.
Recycled Paper:
Made from either 100% post-consumer recycled paper-fibre, previously used and discarded
by consumers or certified FSC Recycled paper-fibre, made from both post-consumer
recycled paper-fibre & materials reclaimed from manufacturing.
Recycled Plastic & Polyester:
Contains at least 50% post-consumer recycled content across major plastic & polyester
components, sourced from materials previously used by consumers.
Recycled content is substantiated by third party auditors to standards and certifications including the: Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Recycled standard, Global Recycled Standard Certificate (GRS), ISCC PLUS Certificate and Officeworks due diligence methodology.
Shop Recycled Content productsReuse or Refill
Products can be used more than once, removing the need to purchase multiple items, and helping to reduce landfill.
Claims are substantiated by the nature of the product.
Shop Reuse or Refill productsRecyclable
Products, which at end of life, traditionally ending up in landfill, have instead designed to be recyclable.
This claim is substantiated by recyclability assessments including The Australian Packaging Covenant Organisations (APCO) Packaging Recyclability Evaluation Portal Assessments, APCO approved Standardised Test Method for Repulpability Assessment created by Warren Batchelor – BioPria (Monash University) & recycling experts.

Products created, sourced, or designed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses.
Indigenous products and suppliers are substantiated through Supply Nation Certification, or Officeworks due diligence methodology.

Shop Supporting Communities productsCertified Cotton
Products containing Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified cotton. GOTS is an independent certification that sets environmental and social criteria for the entire textile supply chain, ensuring products contain a minimum of 70% certified organic fibres and are made under verified responsible practices.
Certified cotton is substantiated through evidence of GOTS certification verified by third party auditors.
Shop Certified Cotton productsFast-Growing Renewables
Products primarily manufactured from bamboo, rattan, or other fast-growing renewable resource.
Fast-growing renewables are substantiated with Forest Stewardship Council certification verified by third parties and/ or Officeworks supply chain due diligence methodology.
Shop Fast-Growing Renewables productsMade from Plants
Products free from plastic using plant-based materials or organic materials only (applies to product only, packaging may contain plastic, but this is to be avoided)
Shop Made from Plants productsWooden
Products created from FSC Certified wood which may have otherwise been made from plastic.
This claim is substantiated to Forest Stewardship Councils FSC 100% standard, verified by third parties and Officeworks supply chain due diligence methodology.
