As a digital marketer, content creator and cosy gamer, Marissa’s social media feed is full of the latest gaming tech, cute and cosy setups, the latest romantasy paperbacks and her current colouring-in project. Gaming has been a longstanding hobby and a constant source of fun and relaxation for her.

“I remember getting the original Nintendo DS for Christmas and I absolutely fell in love with gaming,” says Marissa. “I love cosy gaming because it’s a great way to unwind after a stressful day at work. I can just lay on my couch or bed and build a farm or collect Pokemon and just relax. I started creating gaming content online because I wanted to show that there’s a game for everyone.”

One device that was missing from her setup was the new Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle. Here she shares why she upgraded from her old Switch to the latest one and how the specs compare.

Why I’m Making the Switch to the Nintendo Switch 2

“I’m so excited to be upgrading to the Nintendo Switch 2 after loving my original Nintendo Switch for so long. I’m upgrading because I want higher performance and a bigger screen to play all of the games that I love.”

It’s Super Screen Size is a Game Changer

“The screen is a huge 7.9-inch LCD screen. It displays in full HD, so you can immerse yourself in your games at home or on the go. Coming from the original Nintendo Switch, this is a huge upgrade in both size and quality. I’m really happy to have more screen real estate to play my favourite games.”

A Double-Duty Dock Enhances the Experience

“The dock not only charges your Switch, but it also allows you to output video up to 4K and play games at up to 120 frames per second on your TV. It’s definitely a lot slimmer than the previous generations.”

The Multi-Use Controllers Give the Ultimate Control

“The Joy-Con 2 controllers magnetically snap to the screen and can be used just like a mouse, adding a whole new layer to the way you control your games. The Joy-Cons feel a lot more sleek and premium in the matte black colour.

“The controls feel super responsive whether you’re playing in handheld mode or docked on your TV. Mario Kart World runs at 60 frames per second in handheld mode, making it feel so much more fluid, especially during those chaotic moments when you’ve just gotten into first place and someone throws a blue shell.”

It’s Loaded With Superior Storage Space

“Nintendo has stepped it up with storage for the Switch 2. It comes with 256GB of internal storage, which is plenty of space for your digital library, with the option to expand it with a micro SD card, so you don’t need to worry about deleting your favourite games; everything is available at your fingertips.”

It Makes Real-Time Game Chat Easy

“I’ve been really loving the GameChat feature – you can talk to your friends directly through the console without needing a separate app.”
