This Liquitex Satin Medium can be used as a collaging adhesive or a thin paint and extend volume with a satin finish. It's ideal for painting, collage and mixed media, and photo transfers.

It gives colour a satin finish, while increasing colour depth & transparency.
Also, it lowers viscosity of heavier body paints, giving increased flow.
This is the perfect option to extend your colour further without affecting acrylic stability.
It helps to maintain paint adhesion, durability, and archival quality, plus you canuse it as a non-removable varnish to protect paintings and establish a satin surface sheen.
The medium can be thinned by diluting with up to 25% water; distilled water will give best results.
Mix as much as you like into acrylic colour to create the viscosity and transparency you want; the more you add, the thinner and more transparent your coloir will become (if bubbles appear when stirring, leave to sit while they rise and disappear).
This medium is semi-opaque when wet and transparent when dry.
To fix pastel, graphite or chalk, mix 1 part medium to 1 part distilled water and apply with an atomiser or airbrush.
Apply with a brush/sponge as a lightweight collaging glue.
It can be used on all acrylic-friendly surfaces with acrylic paints and mediums.
All Liquitex paints are intermixable and water-based, with archival results; tested and certified in the ACMI certification program.
