Erin Holmes juggles a busy life as a travel writer, food photographer and mum of two currently based in Perth – and her different roles mean she’s on the road a lot. She reviewed the NextBase 322GW Dash Cam to see whether recording her driving (and parking) delivered that extra peace of mind.
Easy to Install
Barely 15 centimetres wide, it’s so easy to put together and fits neatly behind the mirror on my windscreen – I can hardly see it which I love. You can install and remove it with just one hand, as the high-strength magnets on the mount and the dash cam click themselves together so you are ready to go. As soon as I start my car, it turns on and connects to the MyNextbase Connect App via Bluetooth. It automatically starts recording, which is pretty cool, because it just means I can set it and forget it.

Range of Footage
It films ahead of me in 140-degree viewing angle, so the dash cam gets the entire picture. The camera records video in 1080p high definition and has a 6G lens, which means it picks up the smallest details, like road signs – handy in the event of an accident. It also records low resolution and high resolution versions at the same time, so you can quickly playback your last video without waiting for the bigger file to download.

Safety Features
If I do have an accident, I can easily send the footage from my dash cam straight to my insurer at the push of a button. Recently I had to go to the airport and leave my car in the airport parking lot. It always makes me a little bit nervous because I never know how my car is going to be when I return! But the dash cam automatically records anything that bumps your car in its Intelligent Parking Mode – that’s a feature I was really impressed with.
Rating: 9/10. Overall I found it easy to set up and use. It gives me such peace of mind when I’m driving around, knowing that my car is protected, I’m protected and my kids are protected. I love it.
