An Optus Gift Card Voice Plan is a SIM-only mobile plan. This means you get a plan for calls, texts,
and data, but it doesn’t include payments for a phone.
Payment Structure: With a prepaid plan, you pay upfront for the service you’ll use (such as data,
calls, and texts) before you use it. Once you've used the credit, you need to top up or pay again to
continue using the service.
Optus Gift Card Voice Plans:
Payment Structure: An Optus Gift Card Voice Plan involves paying a monthly fixed amount for a set
bundle of data, calls, and text and you typically pay after using the services.
You will be able to connect to an Optus Gift Card Voice Plan in all Officeworks stores across NSW. We
will also be trialling Optus Gift Card Voice Plans in selected Officeworks stores including:
VIC:
Officeworks Fitzroy, Highett, Maribyrnong and Richmond
Phones that are 4G and 5G compatible, that use VoLTE calling for Emergency calls and which aren’t
locked to other networks will work on the Optus network. Here’s what you need to check to confirm if
your device is compatible:
4G
If your device is compatible with the 4G Network 700 MHz (LTE Band 28 or also known as B28 spectrum)
VoLTE
If your device supports 4G VoLTE (which enables voice calls to be made over a 4G network) -
including VoLTE emergency calling.
5G
The Optus 5G mobile network is currently rolling out in selected areas of Australia. When not in 5G
coverage area, the device will switch to Optus 4G network where it is available. Check out the Optus
5G mobile coverage map for the latest updates on our 5G network rollout.
Optus (and other Australian telecommunication providers) is legally required to block access to devices
that are not able to make emergency calls to Triple Zero (000) using VoLTE. Check if your phone is
compatible using the Optus Device Checker
If your device is not compatible, you will need a new compatible device to stay connected. You can find

plan fees will continue to be charged.
Locked handsets
Certain handsets can have network locking on the device. These devices were often sold as a Pre-paid
device. Most non-Optus Pre-paid devices are programmed not to accept an Optus Sim Card. Please contact
your current network provider to check if your mobile device is network locked.
It is also recommended that you back up your device before switching your mobile phone number over to a
new provider.
An Officeworks team member will take you through the activation process in store. During this process
you will be required to provide details of your existing Optus account or set up a new Optus account.
You will be asked a series of questions to determine your eligibility and will be required to provide
100 points of valid ID.
Yes. Please be aware, your existing service provider may require you to pay a penalty or cancellation
fee or apply an early termination fee if you still have an existing contract with them.
Only those mobile service numbers specifically requested by you as part of the transfer request will be
switched to Optus. Any other mobile service numbers not advised will remain with your existing provider.
No. The Optus Gift Card Voice Plans are available for new numbers or customers that are bringing their
existing mobile number across from another mobile provider.
You will receive your Officeworks Gift Card from a team member once the Optus Gift Card Voice Plan has
been successfully activated and can use it online or in-store.
Offer applies to eligible devices only. An eligible device is a device that Officeworks makes
available for selection with the Gift Card offer in select a Officeworks stores.
Offer is not available to Officeworks business account holders.
Customers who connect to a new 24 month $49, $69 or $99 Gift Card Voice Plan, a new 36 month $69
Gift Card Voice Plan or a new $35 Optus Data Only Plan at select Officeworks stores, are eligible to
receive an Officeworks gift card upon successful service activation of the plan. Type of gift card,
value of gift card and offer period is as outlined in the table above. Max 1 per service up to a max
of 5 per customer. Offer available for Consumer and Business customers. A physical gift card will be
provided at point-of-sale. These offers are not available with any other offers, unless specified in
writing. Plan cancellation fees apply, see Critical Information Summary for details. Recontracts and
rate plan changes are excluded. Gift card can be used at Officeworks stores and expires 48 months from
date of issue.
No Excess Data Charges: If data allowance is exceeded, your service will be slowed to a maximum
speed of 1.5Mbps. 1.5Mbps is suitable for general internet browsing and music streaming, however
some activities such as video streaming may see increased buffering and loading times. Usage while
slowed is unmetered. Applies to data usage in Australia only. These plans do not share data.
International add-ons: You can make changes to your plan add-ons at any time. For example, you may
be able to add calls from Australia to overseas. Each international add-on can be added once per
24hrs, per service. You can access your calls as soon as you request it and the full charge for that
bill month will appear on your next bill. Recurring international add-ons will remain on the service
until removed. Standard international calls from Australia only.
Optus Roaming Pass: Available to selected customers and includes unlimited standard talk (with
mobile plans only) & SMS, plus 1GB data to use in selected destinations. Active for 24-hours or
until 1GB data is used, whichever comes first. If you continue to roam in eligible destinations,
we’ll automatically charge you another $10 for another pass and the 24-hour timer restarts. Unused
data expires. Selected destinations are subject to change, see current list at optus.com.au/roamingrates. If you
have International Roaming inclusions in your plan or an International Roaming option, Optus Roaming
Pass will not start until you have used those inclusions.
Data Add-ons: You can make changes to your plan add-ons at any time. For example, you may be able
to add data. Each data add-on can be added once per 24hrs, per service. You can access your Data
Add-on as soon as you request it and the full charge for that bill month will appear on your next
bill. The inclusion of your Data Add-on is added to your data allowance on your account. Data for
