Extra Cover Plans

There are two Officeworks' Extra Cover Plans available. The price of each Extra Cover Plan will be dependent on the product you're applying your Extra Cover to. You'll need to ask one of our Team Members for assistance with a quote.

Extra Cover Repair Plan

An extra cover repair plan means:

“Should your purchased product suffer a mechanical or electrical failure within Australia, we will pay for the parts, labour and service call-out fees required to return your product to normal working order.”

This is subject to the Officeworks Extra Cover terms and conditions.

The Extra Cover Repair Plan is specifically designed for products valued at over $500, including PCs, notebooks, and technology products like digital cameras and multi-function machines.

Extra Cover Replacement Plan

An extra cover replacement plan means:

“Should your purchased product suffer a mechanical or electrical failure within Australia, we will always replace it with an Officeworks Gift Card valued up to the original purchase price amount.”

This Officeworks Extra Cover Replacement Plan works in addition to the existing warranty of the original product.

The Extra Cover Replacement Plan is specifically designed for products valued between $25 and $500, including technology items and gas lift chairs. However, this plan excludes notebooks and PCs as they are only covered by the Extra Cover Repair Plan.

Extra Cover Exclusions

The above Extra Cover plans do not cover the following:

  • Any part/s of your product that are supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty period of less than 3 months
  • Unauthorised repair/s
  • Defects or design faults that are covered by the manufacturer or distributor (including product recalls)
  • Consequential loss of any type
  • Costs incurred where no mechanical or electrical failure is identified
  • Normal maintenance costs
  • Any exclusions outlines in the manufacturer’s warranty
  • Installation or reinstallation of your product
  • Reformatting of the hard disk and/or any data recovery
  • Mechanical or electrical failure of your product caused by:
  • – Product recalls
  • – Negligence, accidental or deliberate misuse or unauthorised alterations
  • – External sources including but not limited to electrical interference, power surges or voltage fluctuations
  • – Infestations of vermin, pests or insects
  • – Accidental damages from any cause
  • – Rust or corrosion
  • – Abnormal wear and tear
  • Repairs to any:
  • – Consumables including but not limited to batteries, fuses, filters, bulbs or lamps
  • – Cables and cords
  • – Monitors and screens as a result of image burn
  • – Speakers as a result of overloading
  • – Software, data or removable data mediums caused by the mechanical or electrical failure of your product, including firmware upgrades, software corruption and/or viruses of any kind
