Chair Mat Guide

When choosing a chair mat for carpets, it's important that you choose the correct mat for the carpet thickness to ensure long life for both the chair mat and your carpet.

Chair mats for carpet are designed with grippers for holding them in place. The grippers and chair mat thickness vary in size depending on the carpet thickness. If you use a low-pile chair mat on high-pile carpet, the mat will crack simply because the mat is not the correct thickness to 'absorb' castor impact as they roll on the thick carpet.

Choose a correct mat for your chair by following two simple steps:

    Measure the thickness of your carpet

    Press a pin or similar object through your carpet until it reaches the floor, then measure the length as a guide to how thick the carpet and underlay are.




  2. Select from one of the following

    Economy
    Economy Chair Mat

    For use on carpet 6mm thick or less with no underlay


    Low pile
    Low Pile Chair Mat

    For use on carpet 6 - 9mm thick including underlay


    Medium pile
    Medium Pile Chair Mat

    For use on carpet 9 - 12mm thick including underlay


    Deluxe pile
    Deluxe Pile Chair Mat

    For use on carpet 12 - 15mm thick including underlay


    Hard floor
    Hard floor Chair Mat

    Suitable for timber, tiles, concrete and other hard floor surfaces
